Basic Textile Care & Fabric Care Course
This course is for anyone who wishes to understand more about textile care and fabric care such as their characteristics and how to care for them. There will be hands-on sessions on how to identify fibers through burning tests and how to remove common stains. A basic understanding of fibers, in terms of their characteristics, uses and care requirements will help you make wise choices when purchasing textile and clothing products. Fiber properties and behavior are directly related to fabric performance and care. A complimentary fabric swatch library would be included for your future reference.

- Learn how to interpret various types of fabric qualities.
- Learn how to interpret care symbols.
- Learn how to advise care for garments with reference to care label instructions.
- Learn how to apply stain removal techniques for common stains.
- Learn how to check to ensure the stain is removed.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Singapore/PR Students:
GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 4 and above
International Students:
High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basis AND/OR Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test
English Language Requirement – Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450 ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office
Certification
Participants who fulfil all requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
