FAQs
FAQs
What are WSQ courses?
WSQ courses, like our food hygiene refresher course and food safety course, are nationally recognised training programmes developed under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications system. They are designed to equip individuals with industry-relevant skills and competencies, enhancing their employability and career progression within various sectors.
Why is aircon maintenance important in Singapore?
Aircon maintenance is very important in Singapore because of the country’s hot, humid climate and heavy daily usage of air-conditioning. Without proper servicing, the system can become inefficient, unhealthy, and expensive to run.
Can I really learn to service my own aircon in just two days?
Yes, but with realistic expectations. In two days, you can learn proper and safe air‑con servicing fundamentals and gain confidence to service your own unit correctly. However, advanced troubleshooting and repairs require further training and experience.
What are the benefits of taking this aircon servicing course?
This course equips technicians with advanced diagnostic, repair, and system restoration skills to improve reliability, performance, and energy efficiency of modern air‑conditioning systems.
Do I need any tools or equipment for this course?
No, you do not need to bring any tools or equipment for the course. All the necessary tools, materials, and training equipment will be provided during the class for hands-on practice.
Is this SkillsFuture aircon maintenance course suitable for beginners?
No. This SkillsFuture Advanced Air‑con Maintenance course is not suitable for beginners. It is designed for learners who already have basic air‑conditioning servicing knowledge and hands‑on experience, and who want to progress to advanced diagnostics, fault‑finding, and repair of modern inverter systems. ✅ Recommended: Complete a Basic Air‑con Maintenance course or have equivalent work experience before attending.
What topics are covered in the aircon maintenance course?
The air‑con maintenance course covers advanced diagnostics and corrective maintenance for modern air‑conditioning systems, including inverter technology, manufacturer error codes, safety and risk assessment, system dismantling, precision repair and replacement of components, reassembly and reinstatement, functional testing and performance validation, and completion of maintenance documentation and reports.
Can I use SkillsFuture credits for this aircon servicing course?
Yes, eligible Singaporeans and Permanent Residents can utilise their SkillsFuture credits to offset the fees for this aircon maintenance and servicing course. This makes professional training in aircon servicing more accessible and affordable for those looking to upskill or enter the field in Singapore.
Can foreign domestic helpers attend this aircon course?
Yes, foreign domestic helpers (FDWs) may attend the course, but they are generally not eligible for SkillsFuture funding.
What this means in practice:
FDWs can enroll if they meet the course prerequisites (e.g. basic air‑con knowledge/experience).
SkillsFuture Credit and subsidies are typically not applicable to FDWs.
Course fees would usually be self‑funded or employer‑sponsored.
Attendance may be subject to work‑pass conditions and employer approval.
For certainty on funding and eligibility, it’s best to check with the training provider before registration.
Is this course relevant for maintenance staff and handymen?
Absolutely. Maintenance personnel, handymen, general maintenance workers, facility assistants, and building support staff will benefit greatly. The hands-on training provides practical skills immediately applicable to your daily work in Singapore's residential or commercial properties.
Can this course help property managers and operations managers?
Yes. This advanced air‑con maintenance course is relevant for property managers and operations managers, especially those overseeing buildings with air‑conditioning systems.
The course helps managers:
Better understand advanced air‑con diagnostics and repair processes
Make informed decisions when supervising or evaluating maintenance works
Communicate more effectively with technicians and service vendors
Ensure repairs are carried out safely, correctly, and to performance standards
Improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle management
Note: While the course is hands‑on and technical, property and operations managers will benefit most if they have prior exposure to air‑con maintenance or facilities operations.
