This aircon (AC) maintenance and servicing course will impart knowledge for learners to do maintenance and cleaning of air conditioners by themselves through hands-on experiential learning. This will help lower the need to get aircon servicing by professionals.

At the end of this aircon maintenance and servicing course, learners will be able to:

Describe the types, functions, and operating principles of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems and their components.

Perform preparation work to conduct preventive maintenance on air-conditioning systems.

Perform serviceability and installation checks on air-conditioning systems.

Perform preventive maintenance and servicing in accordance with organisational maintenance procedures and/or technical manuals and safety guidelines.

Record maintenance activities and report faults identified.

This course is conducted in person, in a classroom setting, providing an interactive and engaging learning experience with Practical Hands-on.

Written Assessment: 0.5 hour

Certification

Participants who are assessed as Competent will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Minimum Entry

At least 16 years old

Have a minimum primary school education

Have a basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements

Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification, i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3

Have a keen interest in how air conditioning systems work, and be willing to participate in practical hands-on work in semi-outdoor areas

No prior maintenance/technical work experience is required

Attire

Comfortable and practical clothing suitable for a workshop environment.

Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for safety reasons.
