Course Objectives
By the end of the course, learners will be able to safely assist older persons with transfers, mobility, and transportation, manage behavioural changes in dementia, and develop person-centred community care plans.
Elder Care: Safe Movement, Transportation & Handover Protocols
Topics covered include: Fundamentals of Safe Movement in Elder Care, Ambulation & Wheelchair Assistance, Transportation Protocols, Handover Protocols & Caregiver Report Writing, Stroke Caregiving & Safe Transfers, Practical Skills & Case Simulations.
Dementia Care: Applied Case & Care Planning in Community Settings
Topics covered include: Understanding Dementia & Caregiving, Applied Dementia Cases, Community-Based Care Planning, Essential Home Caregiver Skills, Family Education & Caregiver Support, Practical Case Studies & Role Plays.
Mode of Assessment
Assessment consists of: 30% Case Application, 30% Theory, 40% Demonstration & Skills Practice.
Certification
Participants who are assessed as Competent will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
