How do I sign up for a course?

In the course listing page, Click Book Class for Individual funding registration or Corporate Booking for Employer funding registration and fill out the registration form accordingly.

Please note: Use a unique/ different email for each person registering for class

Why do we collect refundable Deposit and how do we refund the deposit?

When the student pays the course fees by SkillsFuture credit, we collect a refundable deposit of $10 / $30 upon courses registration.

We have invested material and cost to setup the class for the student. This deposit is to ensure that all students will turn up the course.

Upon attending the course, regardless of whether the student attains a Competent status, the company will refund the deposit to the student no later than 7 days after course end.

What is the timing for the training ?

Our training programs generally start at 9 AM to 6 PM, although the exact timings may vary depending on the specific programs we offer.

When will I know if the courses that I have applied is confirmed ?

For Self/Individual Registration

To complete the registration process, payment has to be made for the applied course. You will receive an SMS reminder and Email reminder (based on the mobile phone number and email address indicated during registration) once the course is confirmed.

For Corporate/Company Registration

Your Human Resource personnel or the officer-in-charge who completed the registration on your behalf will receive a confirmation email from us. Please bring along this confirmation letter on the first day of your course.

What if I am late for my course / exam / assessment ?

All trainees are expected to be punctual for all courses at all times. Latecomers will not be allowed to sit in the examination / assessment.

When and How will I receive my certificate ?

SSG has rolled out Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) e-Certificate (e-Cert) system from 3 November 2014. This is an online system that issues electronic certificates to WSQ trainees who have successfully completed their training. It replaces the current hardcopy certificate issuance process.

Trainees assessed as competent will receive notification via email or SMS from SSG to view and download their e-Certs after their last assessment.

With the implementation, all Statements of Attainment (SOAs), Full qualifications and transcript will be in electronic form generated at www.myskillsfuture.sg

Can I retake the exam if I fail ?

Except for the Security Guards courses, we do not allow retaking of assessment for all other courses.  For Security Guards courses, you have to pay the additional re-assessment fee and schedule a new date to re-take the assessments.

What should I do for deferment / transfer / trainee replacement / withdrawal of courses ? ?

For Self individual deferment / transfer / withdrawal, you may make your request at any of our branches no less than 7 calendar days before class commences.

For Corporate/Company Registration, you will need to inform your Human Resource personnel or the officer-in-charge who did the registration on your behalf. They will in turn contact our sales person who attended to the registration to make the changes.

Any request that is less than 7 calendar days before the course starts, please refer to our Refund Policy below. 

What are the Funding Eligibility Criteria (SSG Funding/Subsidy) for Self Sponsored ?

  • Trainee must either be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore and;
  • Trainee must be at least 21 years old and; pass all examinations /assessments;
  • Trainee is taking the course for the first time.

What is the Funding Eligibility Criteria (SSG Funding/Subsidy) Employer-Sponsored?

Company must be registered or incorporated in Singapore and;

Trainee must either be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore or LTVP Plus holder;

Trainee should be taking the course for the first time under the current course title that they are taking;

Trainee must be a direct employee of the company under which they would be registering;

Trainee must have a signed employment contract (full-time or permanent part-time employee) with the company, indicating the start date of employment, working hours, salary and compensation benefits, leave, medical and other entitlements;

Trainee should be contributing CPF under this company for the day that they are taking the course;

Trainee must be fully sponsored by the Company for all costs associated with the training.

Course Fees and Pricings ?

We reserve the right to:

  • Revoke any stated offer;
  • Correct any errors, inaccuracies or omission; and
  • Make changes to prices, content, promotion offers, product descriptions or specifications, or other information without obligation to issue any notice of such changes (including after an order has been submitted, acknowledged, shipped or received). We also reserve the right to limit quantities (including after an order has been submitted and/or acknowledged) and to revise, suspend or terminate an event, promotion at any time without notice. The inclusion of any products or services on this Site at a particular time does not guarantee that the products or services will be available.
  • Adjust and/or restrict the amount of information that you are entitled to view on the Site.

I want to request for a refund, what should I do ?

For Self/Individual Registration, you will need to submit the refund request form to our sales person.

For Corporate/Company Registration, you will need to inform your Human Resource personnel or the officer-in-charge who did the registration on your behalf. They will in turn contact our sales person who attended to the registration to process the refund. A refund application form will be given via email and be submitted to OLA.

Any request that is less than 14 calendar days before the course starts, will be subjected to OLA and Registered Training Provider’s approval. An administrative charge (inclusive of GST) will be imposed on a case-to-case basis.

How is GST calculated if my training fees are subsidized ?

The GST fee is calculated based on the full course fees before the deduction of any subsidies or grants. The full GST amount will then be passed onto IRAS. The total amount payable for trainees, therefore, comprises of the course fee after subsidy + GST amount based on full course fees.

What happens if I take a course and fail the assessment ?

In the case of a trainee failing an assessment, the trainee can opt for a re-assessment at a fee. The re-assessment fee includes fees charged by our certification partners for the administration of the test.

Trainees who fail the assessment for assessment-based courses are also not eligible for training subsidies and may be liable to pay the full course fees.

What is our Refund Policy ?

Trainees who are absent with valid reasons, such as medical certificates or hospitalization, may be eligible for a make-up class. The provision of a make-up class is at OLA’s discretion and is subject to resource availability.

For deferment, transfer, or withdrawal from courses, a written notice must be submitted to and received by OLA at least two weeks before the course commencement.

If a student withdraws from the course for reasons other than those stated in the previous clause, the Private Education Institution (PEI) will refund an amount to the student within seven (7) working days of receiving the written notice of withdrawal. The refund amount will be determined based on the table below:

  • More than 7 Calender Days : 100% Full refund of course fees and Deposit will be refunded within 7 Days
  • 7 or less calender days before course commencement : – Deposit will be confiscated / To deduct $10 or $30 from the Full course fee paid in cash.
  • Incase trainee withdrawn due to the Class Postponement or the class cancellation by us-100% Full refund of course fees will be refunded within 7 Days

What is Electronic Attendance (via SingPass) for Trainees ?

All Singaporeans, Singapore PR and LTVP+ holders who apply for SSG funding must DOWNLOAD your SingPass App onto your handphone for attendance taking during the course.

Please note that all Singaporeans, Singapore PR and LTVP+ holders who apply for SSG funding with NO SingPass App and workable phone’s camera make full course fee or reschedule.

If I don’t have a smartphone to download Singpass App, what should I do?

Before you come to class, please ensure that you have a smartphone with the Singpass App downloaded and a Singpass account to take your attendance.

Please be reminded that if you do not have a smartphone with the Singpass App downloaded, it will result in your attendance not being captured and the grant not being approved.

Without Singpass app and workable phone’s camera, you need to make full course fee or reschedule.

How can I take attendance if I do not have Singpass App on my phone?

You will not be able to take e-attendance for SSG funded courses without Singpass app and workable phone’s camera.

Can I request training provider to submit my e-attendance?

No, it is mandated by SSG that training providers are not allowed to submit e-attendance on behalf of the trainees.
