What is SkillsFuture Credit

SkillsFuture Credit consists of credits which Singapore Citizens can use to pay for out-of-pocket course fees for attending work-skills related courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies provided by the Government.

SkillsFuture Credit Top Up

SkillsFuture Credit

All Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above in 2016 received an opening credit of S$500. Singapore Citizens who are below 25 years old in 2016 will similarly receive $500 worth of credits in the year that they turn 25 years old.

One-Off SkillsFuture Credit Top-Up

A SkillsFuture Credit Top Up will be made in year 2020 as announced in Budget 2020. A one-off SkillsFuture Credit top up of $500 will be provided to every Singapore Citizen aged 25 years and above as at 31 December 2020. This top up is on top of the SkillsFuture Credits, and can be used for SkillsFuture courses from 1 October 2020.

Additional SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career Support)

From 1 May 2024, the SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) can be used to offset out-of-pocket course fees for selected courses that have better employability outcomes

Courses eligible for SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) include:

  1. Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) full qualifications and shorter modules that stack to a full qualification,
  2. MOE-subsidised full qualifications from the University of the Arts Singapore and Arts Institutions,

I had a very disappointing experience at the Tampines outlet.

The front counter staff (seated on the left side, near the classroom entrance) provided poor customer service. I was having difficulty scanning the QR code and politely asked for assistance several times. Instead of offering help, she appeared unwilling to assist and displayed an unfriendly facial expression, making me feel very unwelcome.

For my second attendance, I noticed they are in lunch break, so I get her colleague called her out to assist me, she still looked unhappy and reluctant to help.

Customer service should be patient and professional, especially when customers are experiencing technical issues. I hope the management will look into this and improve the service experience at this outlet.
