Course Overview
Accredited by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and recognised by Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), the Child First Aid Refresher Course allows existing Child First Aid Providers to renew their certifications.
This is a 2 days in-person classroom training course
Child First Aid Certification
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive 3 certifications – BCLS, SFA, CFA – each valid for two years.
Course Objectives
- Provide learners with safety information and standards for children and infants in Singapore.
- Prepare learners with the necessary skills in identifying, planning and managing a medical emergency at home or in school.
- Equip learners with the skills in rendering first aid for injuries and medical emergencies arising from common accidents among infants, children and adults.
- Equip learners with the skills in providing effective resuscitation (CPR) to an adult, child and an infant during medical emergencies.

You should attend if you are:
- An Early childhood educator.
- Parents / Caregivers with infant and Babysitters.
Child First Aid course is a compulsory course for childcare and preschool professionals under the Early Childhood Development Agency’s licensing framework.

Course Content
- Essentials of First Aid.
- Unconscious Casualty (Non-Cardiac Arrest)
- Respiratory Problems.
- Shock, Bleeding and Wounds.
- Musculoskeletal Injuries.
- Burn Injuries.
- Other First Aid Knowledge.
- CPR(MTM) + AED.
Entry Requirements
- A valid certificate with not more than 3 months of expiry. Trainees are recommended to enroll for a refresher course 3 months before the date of expiry on your certificate to prevent any lapse in certification.
- Able to speak, read and understand English effectively as the course is conducted in English.
- Physically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as back trouble, knee/spinal/joints injuries, heart/lung conditions etc. Please consult a doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions before proceeding with the course.
- Trainees who are pregnant or suspect they are pregnant are highly discouraged from taking courses with CPR. Due to safety reason, we strongly discourage trainees from attending the course. It is advisable register for the course after maternity leave has ended.
Important Notes:
- Part of the assessment requires trainees to do 2 minutes of continuous chest compressions and ventilations and this can be physically strenuous.
- If you attend the course but opt out of the CPR+AED assessment, you will only be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.
