  • Recognizing and managing an infant victim.

Who Should Attend?

You should attend if you are:

  • Healthcare Professional.
  • A Parent/Caregiver with infant.
  • Interested to become a Basic Cardiac Life Support Instructor.
  • An Individual keen in learning technique to mitigate cardiac arrest and choking in adults and infants.

The Basic Cardiac Life Support + AED (BCLS + AED) course is a mandatory training course for the BCLS + AED instructors-trainers. They have to attain the BCLS + AED certificate before they are eligible for the BCLS instructor-trainer.

Course Content: Basic Cardiac Life Support + AED (Refresher)

  • Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Adult Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction
  • Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Child Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction
  • Infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Infant Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction
  • Application of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Entry Requirements

  • A valid certificate with not more than 3 months of expiry. Trainees are recommended to enroll for a refresher course 3 months before the date of expiry on your certificate to prevent any lapse in certification.
  • Able to speak, read and understand English effectively as the course is conducted in English.
  • Physically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as back trouble, knee/spinal/joints injuries, heart/lung conditions etc. Please consult a doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions before proceeding with the course.
  • Trainees who are pregnant or suspect they are pregnant are highly discouraged from taking courses with CPR. Due to safety reason, we strongly discourage trainees from attending the course. It is advisable register for the course after maternity leave has ended.

Important Notes:

  • Part of the assessment requires trainees to do 2 minutes of continuous chest compressions and ventilations and this can be physically strenuous.
  • If you attend the course but opt out of the CPR+AED assessment, you will only be issued with a Certificate of Attendance

BCLS Certification

BCLS + AED certification will be issued after this course (Valid for 2 years)
