Operate Forklift Refresher Training Course

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

• Trainees having valid WSQ forklift license.
• Learner’s profile:
  Trainees must:
  • be able to interpret work instructions and technical information,
  • be able to listen, speak, read and write English, and be able to process numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3, or PSLE qualification
• Legal Requirement: 
• Forklift Operator Refresher Training mandatory with effect from 1 January 2027.
• All forklift operators must:
  • a) Attend Forklift Operator Refresher Training at least once every three (3) years after completing the initial WSQ Operate Forklift Course; and
  • b) Attend Forklift Operator Refresher Training at least once every three (3) years after completing the previous forklift refresher training.

Asynchronous E-Learning Units:

Online Training (Asynchronous e-Learning for 7 modules):
1. Relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Legislations / Singapore Standards SS573, applicable to forklift operation, 2. Refresh on the correct interpretation of the Load Chart.

2. Forklift Stability

3. Pre-Operational & Post Checks on a Forklift Machine

4. Techniques and requirements for safe operations

5. Techniques and requirements for safe operations

6. Highlights on the common safety lapses by forklift operators and the consequences

7. Safety Rules (Do’s and Don’ts)

Certifications Granted:

Candidates assessed as “Competent” in this course will be issued the following:

Safety Pass/Card: Provided upon successful completion.
Certificate of Successful Completion (Optional): Issued for candidates who have not already received the Safety Pass.
Validity
The certification for forklift operators is valid for 3 years. After this period, operators must attend the Forklift Operator Refresher Training course once every 3 years, as per SS573:2012.
