Special Tailored Wine Selection Course – SkillsFuture bespoke wine classes in Singapore with customized wine tasting training & lessons in wine selection and evaluation knowledge.

Suitable for existing staff in the F&B industry with at least 3 years of working experience and learners from different industries or mid-career changers with at least 3 years of supervisory/team leader role and also need to complete the Wine Selection and Evaluation Level 3.

Course Objectives: Special Tailored Wine Selection

Upon completion of this unit, participants will be able to appreciate wine and have the knowledge and skills in customized selection and evaluation of wine and be able to apply them at the workplace.

  1. Explain how to organize a good selection of wines that caters to the different needs and preferences of customers.
  2. Explain the market trends that determine wine preferences.
  3. Explain wines from alternative styles to meet the demands and preferences of customers.
  4. Explain the impact of environmental factors on the quality and production of wine supplies.

  1. Selection of wines that caters to different needs and preferences.
  2. Alternative styles of wine.

Class Duration

Classroom Facilitated Training Duration – 11 Hours

Assessment duration – 1 hour

Delivery Method and Assessment 

Training delivery is a combination of lectures, case studies, group discussions and self-reflection

Assessment consists of case studies and written assessments.

Entry Requirements

  • Be at least 20 years old and able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) & Workplace Literacy Numeracy (WPLN) level 5
  • The entry requirement will be ‘N’ level/’O’ level qualification and above and be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the ES WSQ WPLN level 5
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) level 5/’N’ level

Required Years of Experience

  • Existing staff in the F&B industry with at least 3 years of working experience
  • For learners from different industries or mid-career changers with at least 3 years of supervisory/team leader role and also need to complete the Wine Selection and Evaluation Level 3 Certification.

Participants who fulfill all requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
