Basic Air-Con Maintenance Course with Hands-on
Course Objective
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- LO1. Describe the types, functions, and operating principles of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems, and their components
- LO2. Perform preparation work to conduct preventive maintenance on air-conditioning systems
- LO3. Perform serviceability checks on air-conditioning systems
- LO4. Perform preventive maintenance and servicing in accordance with organizational maintenance procedures and/or technical manuals, and safety guidelines
- LO5. Record maintenance activities and report faults identified
Basic Car Maintenance for Everyone
Course Content
This hands-on heavy course will equip learners with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively carry out preventive maintenance, serviceability checks, and servicing on air-conditioning systems. It is an entry-level course that is also suitable for learners who are interested in picking up air-con maintenance know-how.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Entry Requirements
- At least 16 years old
- Have minimum primary school education
- Have a basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements
- Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3
- Have a keen interest in how air conditioning systems work and willing to participate in practical hands-on in semi-outdoor areas
- No prior maintenance/technical work experience is required.
