Course Content

This course, WSQ Provide Guard and Patrol Services (PGPS), is a mandatory unit for Security Officers. This course will equip learners with essential knowledge and application skills in providing guard and patrol services and apply them to their workplace in various ways such as:

1. Prepare work activities.
2. Guard static positions.
3. Handle telephone calls and lost-and-found properties.
4. Patrol premises.
5. Make reports and hand over duties.

New entrants to the security industry

Entry Requirements

• Able to listen, read, write and speak English at WPLN Level 2 or equivalent
• Those that do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance.

Course Duration and Timings:

• 16 training hours (2 days) 0900hrs to 1800hrs daily
• Assessment by POLWEL – 2nd day (2 hours)
• Assessment format : Role-Play and Oral Questions

Certification

Participants who fulfil all requirements will be certified with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

The other 2 compulsory security courses for Security Officer (SO) are Incident Response (HSIS) and Threat Observation (RTT).  After completing these 3 basic security modules, you can then Apply for the Security Licence.
