Course Overview Promotion
UA Pilot License (UAPL)
Commercial drone training are designed for individuals who wish to join the rapidly growing drone / unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry as a drone operator.
Once students complete these 2 courses, students will be competent to attempt the CAAS Unmanned Aircraft Pilot License UAPL theory test and mock test, and practical assessment conducted by a UATO- Drone Element.
Signing up for these 2 courses gets you a discount on the course fees for both courses
1st Course- WSQ Aerial Surveillance with Drones
If you are interested in obtaining an UAPL certificate (Unmanned Aerial Pilot Licence) / registration, attend the foundation course to learn how to operate an unmanned aircraft safely before continuing with the UAPL course! Aerial surveillance and maneuvers are important foundations for drone flying skills for UAPL.
As drones become cheaper and more versatile through the years, aerial surveillance and inspections with drones have also grown easier to carry out as compared to more traditional modes of surveillance and management. Public agencies across many industry sectors have already begun testing and even operationalising the use of drones in such areas, most notably by the SPF in surveillance and crowd control since 2016.
This course will equip participants with the know-how to operate aerial drones in the execution of surveillance and/or inspection tasks according to technical and operational specifications, specifically in the area of security. It will also cover the legal, operational, and safety considerations and requirements behind the planning and executing of such aerial surveillance/inspection operations.
(Note: participants wanting to operate the drones for commercial purposes will still be required to attain an Unmanned Aerial Pilot Licence (UAPL) / registration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) after attending this course.)
Theory and Practical Sessions for Participants to learn:
- LO1: Describe the different types of drones and functionalities used in security surveillance today
- LO2: Complete relevant documentation relating to remote drone surveillance operations
- LO3: Set up drones for surveillance purposes
- LO4: Operate drones for surveillance purposes
- LO5: Maintain the drones and their detachable surveillance equipment
- LO6: Escalate abnormal behaviours discovered to appropriate authorities and enforcement teams.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Setup an unmanned aircraft mounted with aerial camera system and equipment according to local aviation regulations (CAAS).
- Operate the drone safely and competently, following the promulgated rules, regulations and safety protocol pertaining to drone flights.
- Produce aerial captures according to technical and aesthetic requirements using camera controls and settings.
- Manoeuvre aerial camera system and equipment according to shot list and flight plans to achieve production styles and technical requirements.
- Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments and attain 100% competency
You can improve your drone skills with this foundation preparatory course to learn and prepare before attempting the UAPL theory and practical assessments.
Similar to a driving test, this helps to improve your chances of passing with much better skill sets at low costs.
