BCLS Course (CPR + AED) Singapore – Basic Cardiac Life Support Cert

BCLS + AED certification is not mandatory for most workplaces in Singapore. However, some industries such as healthcare, childcare, fitness, and security may require staff to have CPR/AED training. Many companies still choose to train employees as part of workplace safety and emergency preparedness.

No equipment needed! All training materials, CPR manikins, AED trainers, and necessary supplies are provided. Just come dressed in comfortable clothing that allows you to kneel and move freely for the practical training.

Yes. During the course, you will practise using training AED units that simulate the real AED machines commonly found in Singapore. This hands-on practice helps you become familiar with the steps, voice prompts, and pad placement so you can respond confidently in a real emergency.

No medical training required! This course is designed for both medical professionals and the general public. As long as you can speak, read, and understand English, are physically fit, and have no underlying heart/lung conditions or joint injuries, you can attend.

Not immediately. This BCLS + AED course is a mandatory prerequisite for becoming a BCLS + AED instructor-trainer. You must first attain your BCLS + AED certificate, then you’ll be eligible to enroll in our separate BCLS + AED instructor certification course.

This is a nationally certified course with guidelines set by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC), which sets national standards for resuscitation training. The certification is recognised across Singapore’s healthcare and public safety sectors.

Absolutely! Childcare professionals are specifically mentioned as target participants. The course covers infant and child CPR and choking management, which is essential for anyone working with young children in Singapore’s childcare centers, kindergartens, and enrichment centers.

CPR and AED work together to save lives during Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). CPR mimics the heart’s action, pumping blood and delivering oxygen to the brain to keep it alive. The AED sends electric shocks to restart the heart. Both are essential – CPR maintains blood flow while the AED attempts to restore normal heart rhythm.

BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) is the updated, comprehensive term that includes CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) plus additional life-saving skills such as AED usage, managing choking victims, and understanding the chain of survival. BCLS is more comprehensive than CPR alone.

The course covers all three! You’ll learn the specific techniques for adults, children, and infants including different compression depths, compression-to-breath ratios, hand positioning, and the use of AED (which varies between adults and children). Understanding these differences is crucial for effective resuscitation.

You’ll learn comprehensive infant resuscitation skills including: performing CPR on infant victims, recognising and managing infant choking (foreign body airway obstruction), and understanding the differences between infant, child, and adult resuscitation techniques. This is crucial for parents, grandparents, and childcare workers.
