Course Overview
PAPP Course (Deterrence)
PAPP Course equips security officers with skills and knowledge to perform security duties at protected areas and places. Security officers will be trained to apply appropriate actions to deter undesired outcomes based on the organizational standard operational procedures under the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA) 2017.

Course Objectives
To demonstrate mastery of the tasks in this course, the participants must be able to do the following within the given time limit and with the materials, tools and equipment supplied:performing security duties within and in the surrounding areas of the protected areas and protected places under the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA).

- Understand IPA and its purpose
- Manage entries into protected area and protected place
- Handle suspicious incidents involving person or vehicle at specific area of protected area and protected places
- Handle suspicious incidents involving Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) sighted at specific surrounding areas of protected area and protected place
Learning Outcome
- Understand IPA and its purpose
- Manage entries into protected areas and protected places
- Handle suspicious incidents involving person or vehicle at specified area of protected area and protected places.
- Handle suspicious incidents involving Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) sighted at specific surrounding areas of protected area and protected places
Entry Requirements
- Minimum Secondary 2 education or equivalent; or
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English at WPL Level 3
- Able to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 3
Certification
Participants who fulfil all requirements will be certified with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
